Hi Dan and Jean,

I hope your week is going swimmingly! Mine has been fantastic. I've spent time sharing the gospel with teenagers at summer camp at Leoni Meadows. There is nothing like the challenges of teenage life to fire up a preacher.

I look forward to seeing you at church!

Nathan

Hi!

We all need times of revival and refreshing. The Central California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists has put together a fantastic digital Campmeeting experience. I'm listening to it while I write this.

They have programming for all ages available at soquelcampmeeting.org. Make sure to check it out. They have several of my favorite Bible teachers and preachers bringing God's word.

There is excellent content for all ages. Make sure to check it out!

After Covid, we are all looking for fellowship opportunities. This Sabbath, we have an outdoor fellowship dinner at Larry and Rosemary Brunell's home. It should be a great time. I hope you can make it to our worship service and join us for fellowship dinner.

Be well!

Nathan

Hi!

I'm proud of the young adults and teenagers of our congregation. When they heard that the church wasn't planning on holding a VBS, they insisted we reconsider, and they volunteered to lead the charge. They said the mentoring they received was too valuable not to pass on to the next generation. Wow! That is impressive. Our teenagers and young adults have learned to love and care for the next generation in their homes, at school, and through the church's ministry.

Their hard work and organization are extraordinary despite the compressed time they've had to put their program together. If you have kids, you can be sure that this VBS will run at the high level of competence you would expect and that your children will be well cared for by the entire team.

In truth, I'm not just proud of our kids. I'm proud of our church. It has raised a team of young people who care. Well done! Pray for them that they may remain committed to Jesus and his work throughout their lives. They aren't just the future of the church. They are its present.

One area we still need volunteers is food donations. I've attached a list to this email. You also can access it here.

I look forward to seeing you this Sabbath as we celebrate the Lord's Supper.

Courage!

7/8/2021 - About VBS

Hi,

Our VBS is coming up soon and we are so excited! As a reminder, VBS is taking place the week of July 12 - 16 and running from 9:30 to 12:30 each day. Here are some important updates:

Our VBS will feature some awesome songs that we’d love to perform for you parents at the end of the week! All VBS attendees are encouraged to join us at church Saturday the 17th, to perform a few of the favorite songs and motions they learned throughout the week. A quick practice for this performance will occur right after VBS ends on Friday the 16th, so pick-up time will be adjusted to 1:00 for that day.

We also are super excited about our week-long mission project at VBS this year - making homeless supply bags! One of the best ways to experience God’s love is to give love to others, and we pray that by participating in this mission project, our VBS kids will be able to have a tangible part in sharing God’s love and benefit from witnessing the beauty of God’s generosity themselves! We are asking each of our attendees to choose a supply (or many supplies if you like!) from the list below to bring each day of VBS to add to a supply stockpile. At the end of the week, kids will help to assemble bags and write a message of God’s love to include. The bags will then be passed out to our local homeless community. We believe God will bless our efforts in providing some simple but much-appreciated commodities to those in need.

Homeless Supply Bags list:
Socks
Granola Bars
Bars of Soap
Peanut Butter or Cheese Crackers
Deodorant
Applesauce
A New Razor
Water bottle
Juice Boxes

Many of these supplies can be found very affordable at our dollar stores!

We are asking for donations for our snack service at VBS. Thank you to everyone who has signed up to bring some food. We could still use more donations so please check out the food list attached, and contact Laurel Renner at (209) 431-7625 if you are willing!

Pre-registration is open on the church’s website. If you do not pre-register, you can register the first day of VBS. Registration will open at 8:45.

We are so happy that VBS is happening this summer and we pray God will use this ministry to bless many kids and their families! See you soon!

The VBS Organizing crew

If you or your child is volunteering at VBS read on for more updates:

Training for VBS crew leaders and station leaders will be held this Friday the 9th starting at 7 p.m. This is the same time as our church’s weekly showing of the Chosen, so parents - please feel free to join in and watch while your kids are at training! (Crew Co-leaders will be briefed in the mornings before VBS and training attendance is not required.) Additionally, we had our first decoration day this previous Sunday to decorate the fireside room, where we will be hosting our main meeting area during VBS. Thank you to everyone who came to help out! We will be having another decoration day the Sunday before the start of VBS, July 11th, starting at 8:30 a.m. We are asking for all station, crew and co- leaders to attend and help decorate!

VBS volunteers can plan to arrive at 8:30 each day for a provided breakfast and a briefing.

Thank you everyone for being so supportive of this ministry! We really appreciate you and are confident God will bless our efforts. See you soon!

Hi!

Happy 4th of July!

As I reflect on the meaning of freedom this holiday weekend, two verses come to mind.

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1 ESV)

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. (Galatians 5:13 ESV)

Too often, people are enslaved to legalism. Jesus sets us free for the sake of freedom. Freedom is a value in itself. May you be liberated by the good news of the gospel. The freedom of the gospel is to be used to serve others. True freedom always entails responsibility. Paul keeps the balance. May we enjoy the liberty of the gospel and a life of loving service.

Friday evening, we are continuing to gather to watch the Chosen at 7:00 PM. If you haven't made it out yet, we would love to have you. It is a meaningful message and a good time together.

Sabbath Pastor Danita is on the schedule to preach. I look forward to her message.

Hi Dan and Jean!

Whew! It is finally over. As of this week, the state of California has eliminated the mask mandate for most gatherings. It couldn't have come at a better time since it is going to be 103º on Sabbath. Can you say thank God for indoor worship and air conditioning? I sure can!

As far as scheduling is concerned, everything is back to normal. We will have worship services and adult Sabbath schools at 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM. Children's Sabbath schools will meet indoors at 9:30 AM.

Beginning this Friday at 7:00 PM (and for the next six weeks), we will have a movie night. We will be watching The Chosen. It is a phenomenal retelling of the Jesus story. The director, Dallas Jenkins, has been vocal about using the Desire of Ages as source material. We will be providing snacks. How can you watch a movie without popcorn? Right? You can find out more about The Chosen at https://watch.angelstudios.com/thechosen.

Hope to see you Friday evening and Sabbath morning!

Free lunch!!

Hi!

I hope you are having a fantastic week! I sure have. The Gr8 series has been a ton of fun. But, more than that, I’ve found it to be very encouraging. It has refreshed me and drawn me closer to Jesus. We have a Friday night (7:00 PM) meeting and three meetings on Sabbath (9:30 AM, 11:00 AM, and 7:00 PM).

Our church is also planning a fellowship meal this Sabbath to celebrate the memorable time we’ve spent together on this journey through Romans 8. The church is providing lasagna and salad. In addition, we are asking church members to bring a dessert and/or French bread ready to go into the oven

All of our worship services will be indoors. Children’s Sabbath schools will continue to meet outside. I’m delighted that the pandemic is waning to such a degree that we can safely do this in our community. I want to remind you that some people are immunocompromised. Please be respectful of the needs and desires of others. Some may not be ready for hugs. Our Saturday evening worship service will include communion. I would encourage you to prepare your heart for that service. Pre-pandemic, we always practice foot washing as a part of our communion service. We can’t do that at our public services yet. I would encourage you, if possible, to practice that service at home before the meeting.

Happy Sabbath!

For the last several weeks, we've had a man attending our services who has a reputation in our Conference for worming his way into Adventist churches and peddling false doctrines. His whole life is devoted to leading people into false doctrines that require keeping the feasts and using the Hebrew names for God.

He accuses Doug Batchelor, Mark Finely, and Stephen Bohr of having the mark of the beast because they don't keep the feasts. He has a habit of calling the Seventh-day Adventist Church the Seventh-day Catholic Church because we won't follow his ideas.

I've seen his destructive ways in area churches over the last decade or so. Last Sabbath, after the service, I asked him to leave and never come back. I clear, forceful, and direct in my request/command. He wasn't worshiping with us to gain a blessing. Instead, he was a wolf in sheep's clothing seeking converts to his religion.

Discover Life is a Seventh-day Adventist Church. If it weren't for the Adventist doctrine, I could have never become a Christian. The great truths we embrace about the gospel, the intercession of Jesus, the multifaceted judgment, the great controversy, the state of the dead, hell, and the Sabbath all help present such a compelling picture of God that I couldn't help but follow Jesus.

Part of my calling as a pastor is to protect the flock and to preserve our doctrine. I take these responsibilities seriously.

On a more positive note, I've included a digital flyer for the series titled GR8 that David Asscherick and I will be preaching beginning this week. Share it with your friends. This series will be a powerful blessing.

Hope to see you this Sabbath!

Nathan

Hi,

MLAJA has its manners banquet tonight. That makes me so happy. It is fantastic to see kids dressed up, having fun, and exploring the dynamics of teenage life in a safe and nurturing environment. I'm proud of our church's commitment to its young people. Please pray for our young people and the staff of MLAJA as they minister on Christ's behalf.

You may have heard that our principal Mr. McRae has taken a call back to his home state of Tennessee. Make sure to thank him for his service when you see him.

Also, MLAJA's board selected a new principal, Andrew Caldwell. Andrew is the son of Ruth and Gary. Andrew grew up in Sonora and was a student at MLAJA. We eagerly welcome a son of our congregation back home to serve and lead in his hometown.

I want to remind you that we have a work bee this Sunday from 8:00-12:00. I hope you can join us. Some finishing touches need to be put on our remodel so that everything is prepared to meet indoors when things heat up this summer.

You won't want to miss this. June 7-12, we have a special guest speaker David Asscherick. He and I will team-teach a series called GR8: A Life-Changing Look at Romans 8.

Hi,

You won't want to miss this. June 7-12, we have a special guest speaker David Asscherick. He and I will team-teach a series called GR8: A Life Changing Look at Romans 8. We should have invites available next week for you to invite your friends.

Our remodel is nearing completion, and we have some finishing touches to make. They mostly center around deep cleaning, moving stuff, and hanging whiteboards and televisions. If we get a good crew, we can knock it out quick smart. We are meeting at 8:00 AM on May 23. Hope you can join us!

If you provided feedback on what worship times work for you, thank you. We are doing our best to accommodate the needs. Things are progressing well with the pandemic in Tuolumne county, and in response, our church is hoping to move to something like totally usual soon. In the meantime we are meeting at the following times:

Indoor church 9:30 AM
Adult Sabbath school 9:30 AM
Outdoor children's Sabbath school 9:30 AM

Outdoor church 11:15 AM
Adult Sabbath School 11:15 AM

Cheers,  Nathan

Hi,

I'm looking forward to worshiping with you tomorrow. This week the CDC issued new guidance for safely gathering. Our congregation is doing its best to move forward with reopening in harmony with these expert recommendations.

We continue to have two in-person services. We have an indoor service at 9:30 AM and an outdoor service at 11:15 AM. We also premier our service on Facebook and YouTube at 11:00 AM.

Based on the most up-to-date, CDC guidelines masks and social distancing are still necessary for indoor worship. This is true, even for the vaccinated.

Unvaccinated people should not be singing indoors. If you like to sing and are unvaccinated, I would encourage you to attend our outdoor service.

Good news! Those who are fully vaccinated are no longer required to wear a mask at our outdoor service. If you are unvaccinated, we encourage you to wear a mask at the outdoor service.

Rules are a bummer, but many churches have not been compliant, and their members have paid for it with their lives. We love the vulnerable in our congregation too much to get sloppy now.

On Sunday, our church is hosting an online Central California Conference town hall meeting at 3:00 PM. Town hall meetings are a part of the selection process for a new Conference president. This meeting is open to all official members of our Conference. The Conference values your input and participation in this process.

Cheers,

Pastor Nathan

Hi,

Last weekend was a fantastic reunion! What a joy it was to welcome so many we haven't seen in such a long time. I will never forget the thrill of finally worshiping inside the remodeled building. The barbeque was legendary! Thanks to the team who work so hard to make this happen and to Adventist Health for donating the food.

Sunday was just as inspiring. In the morning, a team met to discuss the future of the On the House Breakfast (a monthly complimentary breakfast held in Tuolumne City). One of our Sabbath Schools has led the charge on this for almost two decades. Talk about dedication. Some key leaders are moving, and if it is to continue, we will need some fresh leadership who has a heart for community building and caring for the needy. If God lays a burden on you, let me know.

The inspiration continued when I went to God's Closet. What a ministry! We served one hundred seventy children by providing high-quality clothing. The thankfulness the families expressed was highly gratifying. I'm so proud of the team who works all year long to serve the children of our community.

I've always loved the spirit of service that motivates our church.

Here are the details for this Sabbath's services.

Indoor church 9:30 AM

Adult Sabbath school 9:30 AM

Outdoor children's Sabbath school 9:30 AM

Outdoor church 11:00 AM

Adult Sabbath School 11:00 AM

We are still trying to figure out just how to organize our worship times and locations long-term. To do this, we need your feedback. Thank you if you have already responded.  Follow this link for a short survey that will help us plan for our future.

Cheers, Nathan

The town hall meeting is scheduled for May 2 at 2:00 PM; all members are encouraged to gather at Discover Life to participate.

Hi,

It's been just over a year since we began the remodeling project at our church. During that time, we encapsulated our stained popcorn ceilings with drywall, mud, and paint. We updated our Sabbath school rooms with fresh paint and countertops. Our leaking ductwork has been jackhammered out of the concrete and replaced with a custom-designed system that solves the water intrusion problems we were fighting. We also upgraded our HVAC system. We were still using the ORIGINAL system. Our updated platform is much more usable, and our floors have all been re-covered with beautiful carpet. We improved the lighting throughout the entire building with more efficient and better quality lighting.

Whew. It sounds like a lot of work! The crew of volunteers has done a remarkable job. Their tireless labor has indeed been a labor of love.

This Sabbath is our first opportunity to worship in our remodeled building, and it coincides with the 100th anniversary of our founding and the relaxing of the Covid-19 restrictions on indoor gathering. All of these independent events converging at the same time sure feels like providence to me.

The Details:

Indoor church 9:30 AM
Adult Sabbath school 9:30 AM
Outdoor children's Sabbath school 9:30 AM

Outdoor church 11:00 AM
Adult Sabbath School 11:00 AM

After the service, make sure to stay put for a barbeque lunch provided by the generosity of Adventist Health.

We are still trying to figure out just how to organize our worship times and locations long-term. To do this, we need your feedback. What service times and locations best meet your needs?  Follow this link for a short survey that will help us plan for our future.

That's not all. Sunday, God's Closet will be helping to meet the needs of the children of our community by providing lightly used, beautiful clothing. We can always use volunteers, and please help get the word out. The doors open at 10:00 AM and close at 1:00 PM.

It sure feels good to be getting back toward normal!

Courage,

Nathan

Hi,

Spring is always an energizing time of year. This spring is exceptionally energizing. It feels like we are beginning to see the light at the end of the pandemic (at least in the United States). At the church, our remodel is moving toward a conclusion. Energizing indeed!

On April 24, we will host our first indoor worship service in our building in over a year. I am beyond thrilled that our first worship service in our newly remodeled sanctuary coincides with our 100th anniversary. What a bit of beautiful providence!

I hope you can join us as we celebrate our 100th anniversary and rededicate our church. We will have an indoor church service at 9:30 AM and an outdoor church at 11:00 AM. Outdoor children's Sabbath school is at 9:30 AM. We will have indoor and outdoor adult Sabbath schools at 9:30 and 11:00 AM. After the second service, we will have a vegetarian barbeque. Unfortunately, the pandemic isn't over, so things won't look exactly like they did before. Face coverings and check-in will still be required.

During the pandemic, many of our members have understandably kept their distance from in-person worship. Our small group ministry effectively shut down. Separation from friends, family, and the church community has been almost unbearable. The sense of loss and absence this year has been palpable. This has caused me to reflect on the purpose of the church.

Through the love of God, the grace of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit, the church is a diverse community that loves and serves one another. In the church, our faith is nurtured, our families strengthened, and we learn how to live in the light of the self-sacrificing generosity God has lavished upon us. God has called us to more than just living in community.  He has called us to extend this beautiful community.

Over the last few weeks, our nation has been devastated by anti-Asian violence, mass shootings, police shootings, and the ever-present heartbreaking news of a disordered world on its last gasps.

Now more than ever, we need the gospel. Now more than ever, the world needs a model of a healthy community. My prayer and hope is that God will fill our community with the beauty we see in the story of Jesus.

Kemy Ogendi wrote a song called Winter. It embodies the hope and expectation I feel this spring. She sings,

Winter didn't last, the coldest months have passed
Time will heal our bumps and bruises
Mend the broken parts, oh oh
Mend the broken parts
Winter didn't last, the shadow's time has passed
Light will fill the skies above us
Chase away the dark, oh oh
Chase away the dark
So, hold on, hold on, my dear
For it won't be long, my dear
Morning comes at last, the longest nights will pass
Love will soothe our restless souls and
Heal the aching hearts
Heal the aching hearts
So don't you dare give up, my dear!
Your redemption is so near!
So, hold on, hold on, my dear
For it won't be long, my dear

In Hope, Nathan

Hi,

And so we have come to the end of our study in the Gospel of John.

It’s hard to believe that we are here! Pastor Nathan started this series months before I arrived in this wonderful church community and we have been making our way through (with a few breaks along the way) ever since. There have been so many insights and so many beautiful pictures of Jesus, of God’s love made flesh. I hope that you have seen new aspects of God’s love for you and for the rest of the world as well!

So what last words does John have to share with us? With what does he choose to conclude the final Gospel?

Join us this Sabbath in-person, or online, as we spend time in community and reflect on the messages of John 21. We will see what last words John has for us about Jesus, the Word who was with God from the very beginning.

Blessings,

Pastor Danita

Hi,

Resurrection weekend is a time when we can pause, both as individuals and as a community of faith, and remember the incredible gift of life and love that Jesus gave to us.

Some Christian faith traditions place emphasis on the physical suffering of Jesus. Others seem to skip to the end and go straight to the celebration of that Resurrection Sunday… and if I had to choose, Seventh-day Adventists tend to fall more into this category.

Both are important parts of the story of the Resurrection weekend; however, today, I am inviting you to sit in the silence of that Saturday almost two thousand years ago.

A day filled with grief and heartache.
A day filled with doubt.

Spend time remembering the wait.

Because, although we know now what happened that next Sunday, the followers of Jesus did not. Their inability to see the future fully impacted their thoughts and feelings on that Silent Saturday.

Join with us in worship tomorrow — in person or online as we step with the followers of Jesus from silence and grief into joy.

Joy Comes in the Morning

Blessings,

Pastor Danita Lenae

Hi,

Religious leaders killed Jesus for doing God's work. Seriously. Religion can be a scary force in the world. The good news is that Jesus rose from the dead and started something new, something better. He made way for relationship to replace religion. This is what we will be studying this Sabbath during our worship service. I sure hope you can join us.

We are still worshiping outdoors. The weather is going to be perfect this Sabbath.

If you missed it, our church's 100th anniversary is on April 24th. We are planning on rededicating our newly remodeled sanctuary that Sabbath. We will also have a barbecue lunch after service—make sure to mark your calendar. You won't want to miss it.

Be Well!

Nathan

Hi,

Sometimes life feels like a war zone. The heartbreaking reason it feels like a war zone is because it is a war zone. The forces of good and evil are raging all around us, and we find ourselves caught in the crossfire.

Sometimes the war is in our home. Other times it is at work or in our community. We see the battle play out in the broader society. We see it in the heartless murder of those who are different from us. We see it in ourselves when our nobler impulses win the day or when we find ourselves fighting on the wrong side.

In this war, there stands one who never fought for the wrong - Somebody who always pursued truth, justice, and mercy. His name is Jesus. His character's beauty was on full display when He, an innocent man, died on the cross. There He displayed the glory of God. Not a resplendent glory that dazzled the senses, but a humble glory that captivates the heart.

In this war zone, it is my hope and prayer that the glory of our self-sacrificing God will captivate our hearts and minds that with Him, we might pursue truth, justice, and mercy.

Courage,

Nathan

3/12/2021

Hi,

Can you believe our church has been serving the Sonora community for 100 years? We were organized on April 24, 1921. We hope to rededicate our remodeled church on April 24, 2021. That should be an exciting day!

This Sabbath, we are meeting outside at 9:30 AM for Sabbath School and 11:00 AM for our worship service. I hope you can join us.

Over the last several weeks, our church has been hit very hard with a number of our members passing to their rest. If you haven't attended our in-person services, you may have missed the notices. Sadly, we have lost Alice and Jason Hobbs, Chet Cunnington, Norma Davies, Wilbur Hightower, Leon Grabow, and Elinore Burns. Please keep their families in your prayers.

We look forward to the blessed hope of the glorious return of Jesus when we can all be united again.

Maranatha!

Nathan

Hi,

Have you ever been looking for something that you can’t seem to find—no matter how hard you try? Maybe it was your keys for work, or your earbud, or perhaps your favorite frying pan… It can be exceedingly frustrating to search for something and not be able to find it. One thing that I often run into is trying to track down a specific image or piece of artwork. Searching “umbrella in the rain” on Google may get you 2398749275* images, but how do you find the one you’re looking for?

This week we are diving back into the Gospel of John—and we will continue in John up through Resurrection weekend. Since we are starting up in Chapter 18, I encourage you to look back through the book to remind you of how far we’ve come in John’s retelling of the story of Jesus.

If you are in good health and masked, please join us outside for worship this Sabbath for Sabbath School at 10 am and the worship service at 11 am.

We would love to see you there!

Pastor Danita

Hi,

Things are coming together in the sanctuary. The pews are now in place. I think the sanctuary looks absolutely gorgeous. The decorating team and interior decorator knocked it out of the park. Despite the progress on the remodel, we are still meeting outside. It looks like the weather is going to be lovely tomorrow. I hope you can join us.

Hi,

One hundred fifty-one people gathered for outdoor worship on February 6th. I was blessed beyond measure by the singing and fellowship (I'll leave it to someone else to comment on the preaching). Last week we worshiped indoors because of the weather. Most of the 151 people decided to stay home. Who could blame them? Right now, indoor gatherings are forbidden from singing. Gathering without singing is a real bummer.

Good news! This week it looks like the weather will hold, and we can worship outdoors. Covid case counts have dropped precipitously from daily highs in the 40,000's to 7,500 cases per day this last week. It looks like enough people have immunity that we are moving toward something like a brighter future. I hope you continue to be vigilant in your hand hygiene and masking. If you're comfortable, we look forward to seeing you in person tomorrow.

I also want to let you know that Don Muir’s memorial service will be indoors in the sanctuary Sabbath at 2:00 PM.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13

Be Well,

Pastor Nathan

Hi,

We are now permitted to hold worship services indoors at 25 percent capacity. It will rain tomorrow, so this couldn't have happened to us at a better time.

I'm comfortable holding an indoor service because more and more people in our community have immunity, whether through vaccination or exposure to the virus. Of course, we will still practice social distancing and will require masks. If you have any feeling of sickness at all, catch our online service.

If you aren't vaccinated, it may still be a good idea for you to worship with us online until the rain goes away and we worship outside again. Just because we can worship inside doesn't necessarily mean it is a good idea for everyone to be there. Covid-19 is still dangerous, and it is impossible to predict perfectly who will be devastated by it and who will be asymptomatic.

If you're vaccinated, young and healthy, we would love to see you in person. If you're not vaccinated and in poor health, we would love to see you too, but maybe you should wait until the weather is better and we worship outside. It is just safer.

Be smart, stay healthy, and I look forward to seeing you soon.

Happy Sabbath,

After a rainy week, it looks to be a dry weekend. That means we will be holding an in-person, outdoor church. We will meet for Sabbath School at 10:00 AM, and the worship service will get started at about 11:00 AM. If you’re comfortable, we would love to have you. If you aren’t comfortable, I invite you to join us online at 9:30 AM for Sabbath School. The links are below. Our online worship service begins at 11:00 AM. Check us out on Facebook and YouTube.

On another note, the lighting is finished in the sanctuary, and the carpet is about 99% complete. The church looks fantastic! Be well,

Pastor Nathan

Happy Sabbath,

Thank God the rain and snow are finally here. It looks like we have a short weather window tomorrow morning so put on your long johns and mask. We would love to have you for our outdoor worship service -- that is if you're comfortable with a socially distanced outdoor meeting.

The church remodel is coming along fantastically. Everything is becoming more beautiful by the day. Soon all of the carpets will be laid, and the reupholstered pews will be placed. Then we will only be waiting for the waning of the pandemic before we will be permitted to worship inside. I'm looking forward to that day. In the meantime, stay safe and healthy.

Be well,

Pastor Nathan

These actions were made with much consideration for the health and safety of our children, young people, and members of various communities as we face the ongoing challenges of the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Happy Sabbath,

My grandmother wasn't an active follower of Jesus for most of her life. As she neared the end, she made peace with God. When my mother asked her about how she was with God, grandma replied, "I'm safe in the arms of Jesus." No matter what is going on in your life or the world around you, you are safe if you are in Jesus' arms. He has conquered death and has promised to come again and restore all things. However great the loss or setback, Jesus' grace much more abounds (see Romans 5).

Our dear sister Jeana Muir is mourning the death of her husband of 86 years. Please reach out to Jeana as she mourns Don's passing.

If you're comfortable, we would love to have you for outdoor worship and Sabbath school tomorrow. The weather looks to be lovely.

Be well,

Pastor Nathan
